Homosexuality.. and the rest of the world

Author: Zach Komes
Country: USA

This is a sensitive topic for most of us. Some of us say it’s against our religion. Some say it’s against all morals. Some even say it’s against mankind. But the question isn’t if it exists; it’s what we should do about it. Should we respect our fellow peers, or shun them just because they act different than us?

I am not gay, but I believe that gay people have feelings too. They are human, and humans have the right to express themselves freely. I thought everyone was created equal; no matter what race, gender, religion, opinion, personality; doesn’t that include sexual orientation? Aren’t we taught to love everyone, even our enemies?

Did you know that the word “queer” (which used to be “weird”), is now another word for being homosexual? Did you know that these days most hate crimes are against gay people? Society has obviously turned against people who are homosexual; but it’s up to us, straight and homosexual alike, who want to take a stand to change their minds. We must hold demonstrations, protests, create websites, hold study groups; anything that will help change what people think. We need to be that generation that took a stand on different issues, not only this one.

Hopefully this will make you think about the way you treat gay people; or maybe people in general.

A really great article Zach. We may differ when it comes to our views of homosexuality but i think now it's happening... we can only learn to live along with them :)
