Stolen Childhood!

Have you ever heard that some people become troubled because they didn't have healthy
childhoods? I have.

Now children are being deprived of their childhood through wars and poverty. Wars may make children leave their schools, become orphans, and can make them learn violence.

I was very much shocked when I was watching T.V. that a terrorist group has been taking little children and making soldiers of them in Iraq. I used to hear about this happening in Africa, but never have I thought it may occur here in the middle-east. Yes, there is poverty here, and yes there are wars here. But the concept that child-soldiers exist here never passed my mind.
And what is ironic about the news when I watched it was that they said it was because this terrorist group (which I failed to get the name of) was lacking means to train elder men. It reminded me of how low these people can get.

Young kids who will follow what they're told because they don't know any better. A bunch of 10/11 years old children whose only wants are to play with their friends and enjoy themselves. Now they're being subjected to violence.

Stealing away their childhood!
I understand the world we live in needs change, but if children do not have healthy childhoods, how are we to stop this?
I have not given up hope, but on hearing such news one can't help but think of humanity and where the world is now.

Yes, we can change things.

Empower our children and always have hope for a better brighter future ahead of us.

One more conflict area with child soldiers, makes you wonder about the future of this world. The article was very insightful and informative. I think these are specific areas which needs focus in Iraq as far as the international community is concerned.
